Steve, the PSLawNet Blog’s editor, is the Director of Public Service Initiatives at NALP. He focuses on recruitment, retention,       and professional development issues affecting public interest and public sector attorneys, as well as on aiding law students who pursue public interest careers.  Before joining NALP, Steve worked as an attorney with the Philadelphia LawWorks project, a community economic development initiative sponsored by the Philadelphia Bar Association.  Steve is active in the American Bar Association, the National Legal Aid & Defender Association, and is a past president of the Washington Council of Lawyers, the District of Columbia’s voluntary public interest bar association.  Ashley Matthews
PSLawNet Fellow

Ashley, a frequent PSLawNet Blog contributor, is the PSLawNet Fellow at NALP. Although she’s a proud Texan, Ashley recently graduated with a Juris Doctorate from the University of Miami School of Law. She completed her undergraduate studies in broadcast journalism and political science at Hampton University, and has a background in digital media management. Ashley is passionate about access to justice issues, global social entrepreneurship, and legally empowering low-income and marginalized communities.
